Ralph & Sandie,

Thank you so very much for the fabulous weekend you coordinated for all of us. It was definitely worth the drive from Ohio. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and made many new friends.

Please reserve our spot for next year. We will be back!

Ralph and Sandie: Once again you have out done yourselves. Every year has been fantastic and this year's was no exception. This has to be the premier Corvette event of the year. This year even had the weather cooperating. What a great time. Looking forward to next year. If there is anything we can do, let us know.

Thanks again for a great weekend.

This is the 4th year that I have attended the Back to the Beach Weekend with members from the Spindle City Corvette Club. Once again, Ralph and Sandy did a wonderful job! The weather was perfect this year and the accomodations were great. Our meals at the Captain's Galley were scrumtous and the Corvette display on Saturday was great. I personally, love the police escorted Corvette parade through the town of Old Orchard Beach. This year, we had over 19 members from our club attend, many of whom have been coming for years. If you haven't attended this event yet, you must contact Ralph and Sandy and reserve your space your next year!

The following article was in Corvette's United Newsletter.

Back to the Beach 2008 - "Who knew?" By Mike Kerouac

This year's 5th Annual Back to the Beach event held in Old Orchard Beach, Maine was the first for Ann and me. I'm sure other Corvettes United members will add their own color commentary to the event through additional articles in next month's newsletter.

- But, all I can say at this point is "Who knew?"

- Who knew Deb P.'s car would blow a hose just as they were getting on the road?

- Who knew John and Jeannie's hotel room would be locked shut when they finally arrived at OOB?

- Who knew that we could find an unlocked an unoccupied hotel room for John and Jennie? (and it wasn't even their hotel?)

- Who knew the weather would be in the 80's on Thurs, Fri and Sat?

- Who knew there are waitresses in OOB that answer "Are you sh%&ting me?" when Jim P. asked for Grits at breakfast?

- Who knew that Voodoo Juice contains 7 types of rum, but only tastes like juice?

- Who knew that Maine Fried Clams tasted so good?

- Who knew, "What happens at the Beach, is suppose to stay at the Beach?"

- Who knew that a CU Club member would mistake a cup of soap for a Jello Shot?

- Who knew, "No matter what Art did over the weekend, he didn't drink the soap?"

- Who knew there was such a thing as "Man toe"?

- Who knew, Deb U. would bring a Biker Babe shirt to a Corvette event?

- Who knew that Karen's favorite quote of the weekend would be "Poor Art"?

- Who knew that my Pace Car would get to lead the Corvette parade on Saturday?

- Who knew that Karen Caponi would win two raffle prizes?

- Who knew that Jack and Holly would win the 50/50 raffle?

- Who knew that Ann and I would win a raffle prize?

- Who knew that my Pace Car would win a celebrity pick trophy?

- Who knew that CU would win a Club Attendance Trophy?

- Who knew that CU would dominate this event in almost every way, including cars, awards, drinking and singing?

- Who knew FH was a new shirt size?

- Who knew there was an Ass Quarters game and that there is a five year champion?

- Who knew, that the song "Who the F&#k is Alice" would be an event anthem?

- And finally, who knew that a 3 day weekend at OOB could be so much fun?

Thank you to all of the CU members that encouraged Ann and I to attend and thank all for a spectacular weekend full of great memories.

First let me thank Sandie and Ralph for another outstanding weekend. We sure do hope that everyone had a great time. Once again they have outdone themselves. This is getting to be the Corvette Weekend of all time in New England. We don't do too many Corvette events a year, in fact we only do one or two, and this one is on our calendar every year. Once again Thanks Ralph & Sandie you did another great event.

On another note, let me apologize for the road tour on Saturday. Odie and I feel really bad about what happened. There was coordination messup that we were totally unaware of. Anyways, we hope that those of you who did get to the lighthouse, enjoyed your visit. Its a great place.

Once again sorry for the mess up. We will try an do better next time.

Bob & Odie
